Ultra
baseball cards are produced by the Fleer corporation.
In 1991 Fleer released the first Ultra baseball card set. The
1991 Ultra baseball cards were produced on a higher quality
card stock, and used silver ink, just like the Leaf (Donruss)
set started the previous year.
After Fleer filed for bankruptcy in 2005 the
Upper Deck company purchased the Fleer name, and resumed
producing cards under the Fleer Ultra name. |
