In 1923 the Yankees move into the
newly built Yankee Stadium. The 1923
Yankees, Stadium Admission tickets
basically had the same design as the
tickets printed in 1922 when they
played at the Polo Grounds. Tickets
printed from 1923 to 1925 have the game
No.'s circled, and
"Important Notice" (liability
disclaimer) was added to the back in
1925. In 1926 the circle was removed
for good.
In 1927 because
of the Revenue act of 1926 the
admission tax is removed. It is
suspected that there might have been
series "D" tickets printed sometime
during the 1926 season but it has yet
to be confirmed. The
word "Admission" is added below the
word Bleacher in 1927, and would remain
this way until 1933 when it was
removed in favor of the tax line.
In 1928 it is suspected that the season
started with the series letter "F" for
tickets printed for games 1-31 (not yet
confirmed), and was
changed to the series letter "G" for
games 32-77, in order to change the
legal information when the admission
tax was removed from the $1.00 Stadium
tickets. The .75 cents Bleacher ticket
already had the tax removed by the
Revenue act of 1926 but the legal
information was changed to "as
amended by the Revenue act of 1928"
From 1923-1929 the printing company
credit line "M.B. Brown C0., N.Y"
appears on the bottom front, below the
signature of Yankees team president,
Jacob Ruppert..
