  Yankees Bat Day 1976-1986

The New York Yankees switch manufactures, to produce the Bat Day baseball Bats in 1976. All the Bat Day bats from 1965 - 1975 were manufactured by Hillerich & Bradsby. Starting in 1976 Adirondack is used. The Adirondack Bat Day bats can be identified by the "BNB" designation in the center brand, but the first year they used the Designation "PB" The Yankees did not include the "Bat Day" promotion on any of their schedules for 1976. Until one is found, the date the bats were handed out (listed above) will remain unknown.

1977 issues in the marketing power of Stadium Give Away promotions, such as "Bat Day" baseball bats. The bats now include a sponsorship (Burger King 1977-1979) and this practice would continue until today, with only a couple of years in which the bats do not include a sponsor.

Rawlings merged with Adirondack in 1975 but did not change the center brand on their bats until 1983. The Bat Day Bats made in 1983 & 1984 feature the new labeling, and the "BNB" designation is still used. 1983 does not have a sponsor and the following year as listed in the 1984 Yankees promotions schedule is sponsored by Coca-Cola. After 1984 The Yankees use Hillerich & Bradsby, Louisville Slugger exclusively.

In 1980 Hillerich & Bradsby changed their center brand on all the bats they manufacture to "Louisville Slugger" and this label is also branded on Bat Day Bats. The "PRO"  designation continues to be used. 1981 the Yankee Stadium Bat Day Bats do not have a player endorsement. This trend would continue until 2002 when the Yankees give away a Derek Jeter bat, but after 2002 the Yankees only issue a single player for each year as opposed to multiple players issued for each year in the early give aways.
